Hey there, my name’s Ciarlene, pronounced shar-LEEN.
I’m an actor studying and living in London.
A recent transfer from San Diego, California, I’m currently bringing my professional experience and love of learning to East 15 Acting School. I have performed on stages big and small with everyone from Broadway talent to live dolphins.
Since graduating with my B.A. in Music Humanities from the University of California San Diego in 2016, I have transitioned from a career in music research to a professional acting career. My stage credits include La Jolla Playhouse, the Old Globe, SeaWorld San Diego, and CCAE Theatricals. I have appeared in industrial and commercial film projects for brands such as Qualcomm, Technicolor, and I have starred in commercials airing throughout the Los Angeles and Southern California area. Additionally, I have taught all ages how to sing, dance, and perform.
I’m also a lover of charity shops, story-rich video games, and anything pink.

I am also no stranger to creating my own work. In 2019, my solo piece YOUR BEST AMERICAN GIRL won Best World Premiere, Best of Fringe, and Critic’s Pick at the San Diego International Fringe Festival. I am also the founder and Artistic Director emeritus of MaArte Theatre Collective, a community focused on uplifting Filipino American voices in American theatre. Nowadays, I am working both independently and with Fixed House Theatre to bring my original works and devised ensemble pieces to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023-4.
