Ciarlene is an expert advocate and educator of the arts, humanities, and cultural literacy.
She has experience teaching all ages, from pre-k to seniors, the fundamentals and experimentals of singing, acting, media production, and more. Ciarlene holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Humanities from University of California San Diego, and her Master of Fine Arts in Acting International from East 15 School of Acting. In addition to contracted teaching, Ciarlene offers freelance workshops on singing, acting, improv, ukulele, anti-racist training, and more.

Ciarlene is an active music and theatre Instructor with Straight Up Dance and Theatre School based in Loughton, Essex, providing K-12 students with professional and comprehensive instruction in theatre, music, the entertainment industry, and activism in the arts. Back home in California, she is also a veteran teaching artist for San Diego Junior Theatre, The Theatre School at North Coast Rep, The San Diego Youth Symphony, and Bach to Rock School of Music. Ciarlene also starred in the La Jolla Playhouse’s 2019 Performance Outreach Program (POP) Tour Light Years Away, performing an original play for youth and giving educational talk backs with elementary school students all across San Diego County.
